v 0.5 arrives!

v 0.5 is here, with the first improvements to Edit Mode.

At first I tried to keep it consistent with Object Mode and have the shortcuts activate the tools in the Toolbar. This didn't work so well, so I ended up directly invoking the operators with the key shortcut, which is a fancy way of saying, it works the usual way. I may try to convert the other listed tools into Ctrl+something to keep your hand in one position.

Focusing on Add-ons this time, I included the Pivot Transform from Bone Studio, a fantastic and quick way of moving the pivot point of your object. For someone who doesn't use the 3D Cursor, this add-on makes my life a lot easier. Activate it from the Properties Panel (N).

Jayanam makes a lot of helpful add-ons, and this Template comes with two of them (for now, more to come in the future, I'm sure!): Batex - for batch exporting assets to Unreal, and ShortcutVUr - to display key/mouse combos onscreen.

knekke & cgvirus built a bridge to the Instant Meshes program, which retopologizes your mesh to a given face count. Doesn't give perfect results out of the box, but it, and the program it's linked with are open source, so we can always hope that someone is able to refine the system in the future. At worst it gives you a starting point for manual retopology.

I also had the add-on Principled Baker installed, but I was having too many crashed when I clicked on the tab, so I removed it. It seems like an ideal solution for PBR texture baking in Blender, which is a bit of a pain right now, but the instability is keeping it out. There are a couple of other free baking solutions out there that I'm also investigating.

Another thought I had was: should I separate the Default scene from the Mannequin/Reference Objects? I know everyone jokes about deleting the default cube being the first thing they do, and I'm wondering if, as nice as it looks, it might not be more helpful to have a plain scene, with a Reference Objects blend file that you can use to Append items to your current file.

Thanks for using the template, feel free to reach out with comments/suggestions!
